Explanatory project_ Second Biennial of the Canary

  • ClientSecond Biennial of Art and Architecture of Canary Islands
  • PlaceSanta Cruz de Tenerife_ Several Exhibition Spaces
The project “Scenes and Sceneries. Welfare Paradoxes: Consumption of Imaginary and Imaginary of Consumption” extends along the city occupying several exhibition areas covering various concepts. This diversity of spaces located along the city draws a common continuous subject from the point of view of image and the design of the different explanatory scenarios. A "leitmotif" that guides the viewer and relates him/her to the entire project, a present and definitive element in all this landscape: "light". "Light" as a building material of spaces and landscapes. "Light" as a defining element of any alive and changing landscape. This concept is used from a contemporary and technological perpective, rather than from a romantic one. "Light" throughout a constructive reality of a given material with a variety of light intensities will take different forms, adapting to the needs of each of the exhibitions. Given the heterogeneity of spaces and the forms of the contents, their path is constructed with a light that will take different forms: a folded skin, a volume of light, a bright display, a luminescent plasma, a broken line ..., each of these different forms will constitute supporting elements for the explanatory sample according to the room.
