We understand the Barrio de la Concepción as a big-city museum and walking through its streets and places as a cultural and leisure experience. The proposal reflects the character of the environment. It introduces the street space in the building and with it, the visitor, guided by a narrative time-space sequence to the roof where he will have total control of the surrounding landscape, therefore establishing new visions of the place from the very building. A movement of the floor plan and the strategic location of the offices on the first floor allow to fold the public space organizing the sequence of the main spaces of the proposal. On the ground floor, a covered outdoor space, versatile and directly related to the street is developed. As one goes up the perspective changes, among the white planes of the ramps you can guess, cutting the sky, the bell tower of the Church of La Concepción. When turning to follow up, the ageing tiled roofs of the buildings of the back side show part of the neighbourhood’s history. And it is up on the roof where this frame sequence culminates in the full view of the whole. A panoramic terrace opens before us, a balcony overlooking the sea to the cliff and into the mountains. A building drain makes evident its operation showing us the public and accessible compared to the most introverted and private sectors: office as a workplace and under the ground below level 0, a place for reflection and study, a small library with various reading areas open to an interior garden through which light enters, reinforcing the cultural character of the piece. If the visions one may have of this place from the architectonic piece through this route have been an important part of the genesis of the project, the vision of such an architectural object from the site has led us to understand it as a volume covered with light. A neutral image, a pure white object is silent, leaving the key role to the historical value of the environment.
